Bandai Namco Launches Teaser Site

Bandai Namco Games, in collaboration with Japanese magazine Famitsu, has launched a countdown teaser website.

The site's countdown timer will hit zero on April 13. However, Gematsu has managed to trick the system by changing its computer's internal clock. The result is an image of a city shrouded in haze, covered by gold chains.

This isn't the first time Bandai Namco has teased its fans with a timer, as earlier this year the Japanese publisher hinted at an impending game reveal with a similar countdown site.

Visceral Games Boss Leaves EA

Steve Papoutsis, the Executive Producer on Battlefield Hardline, is no longer the General Manager at Visceral Games.

His position was filled by Scott Probst, the son of a former EA executive, reports Kotaku. Their report didn't clarify whether Papoutsis still works for EA or whether he left the company altogether, but a statement from EA given to the site confirms the latter:

“We are thankful for Steve’s many contributions to EA and wish him the best."

In addition to leading development on Battlefield Hardline, Papoutsis is also known for his work on the Dead Space series.

Pixels: Pac-Man’s Out for Blood

Check out some newly released photos from Columbia Pictures' upcoming alien invasion, video game comedy Pixels.

In Pixels, when intergalactic aliens misinterpret video-feeds of classic arcade games as a declaration of war against them, they attack the Earth, using the games as models for their various assaults.  President Will Cooper (Kevin James) has to call on his childhood best friend, ’80s video game champion Sam Brenner (Adam Sandler), now a home theater installer, to lead a team of old-school arcaders (Peter Dinklage and Josh Gad) to defeat the aliens and save the planet.  Joining them is Lt. Col. Violet Van Patten (Michelle Monaghan), a specialist supplying the arcaders with unique weapons to fight the aliens.

Square Enix Officially Announces Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

Square Enix has official revealed Deus Ex: Mankind Divided for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

The game will take place in 2029, that’s two years after the events of Human Revolution, and the Aug Incident that took place in Panchaea. Following the death of millions, a colossal rift has emerged between people with augmentations and those without, and in keeping with the political theme, there are other parties who plan to use the turmoil to further their own agenda.

“For 15 years, Deus Ex has been a point of conversation across the games industry and beyond,” says David Anfossi, Head of Studio, Eidos-Montréal, “whether the topic is the franchise’s unique gameplay or topical narrative focused on advanced biotechnology and human augmentation. What began with Deus Ex: Human Revolution goes to a whole new level in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, diving even deeper into this discussion and, in turn, offering fans an all-encompassing experience, one which will challenge their skills as players and emphasize decision-making based on real world topics.”

7 Reasons Twin Peaks Rules

"She's dead...

...Wrapped in plastic."

It's been 27 years since Pete Martell nervously spoke those words into his phone to Sherriff Harry S. Truman. And America was hooked. It all started with a serene opening credit sequence accompanied by an enchantingly tranquil score from Angelo Badalamenti. The pilot for David Lynch and Mark Frost's Twin Peaks scored a freakin' 22 rating. It was truly a phenomenon. One third of all TV viewers that night watched the tragic unveiling, and unwrapping, of a beautiful, blue-ish corpse belonging to seemingly squeaky-clean small town Homecoming Queen, Laura Palmer. And now, amazingly, Twin Peaks is returning with new episodes May 21st on Showtime.

Hands-On With GTA 5 on PC at 4K

Back in the late ’90s I remember being incredibly jealous of a good friend of mine who had the original Grand Theft Auto on PC, primarily for one very specific (and slightly absurd) reason.

The PC version featured working trains and the PlayStation version didn’t.

That was it, really. But I wanted to ride that train, and I couldn’t in the PlayStation version. The PlayStation port of the original Grand Theft Auto was a brilliant game way back in 1997, but it wasn’t as brilliant as its big brother on PC. As usual, the latter could do just that little bit more. Push that little bit further. It was something my jerk mate pointed out with clockwork regularity.
