Sony Disabling Online Features for MLB 14: The Show

As of June 18, 2015 you'll no longer have access to MLB 14: The Show's online features, as Sony is disabling online support for last year's entry in its baseball franchise.

On the PlayStation online support page, Sony revealed the online features will be disabled on all platforms, including PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and Vita.

For your online fix of The Show, you'll have to upgrade to MLB 15: The Show, which comes to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and Vita on March 31.

This year's entry introduces a new take on Diamond Dynasty mode, as well as several other new features. Developer SCE Studios San Diego is also making it easy to transfer last season's players to MLB 15: The Show.

God of War 3 Remastered Getting Photo Mode

Sony announced the July 14 release of God of War III Remastered for the PlayStation 4 today, and it looks like the game will follow in the footsteps of remakes like The Last of Us Remastered with a photo mode.

A screenshot on Sony's Flickr page shows a scowling Kratos in the new mode, and its announcement of the game also mentions the new mode, inviting players to "share those most tender of God of War moments."

The Last of Us: Remastered photomode was even used by a professional photojournalist to capture striking images of the post-apocalyptic world in which the game exists.

Konami and Kojima Issue Joint Statement

Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima and Konami have released a joint statement to clear up confusion surrounding reports regarding Kojima's departure from the company and the future of the popular stealth-action franchise.

In the statement, Konami reaffirms that Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain is on track for release on September 1 and Kojima will remain involved up through the game's completion.

Kojima offered a few reassuring words as well, saying, "I am 100% involved and will continue working on Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain; I’m determined to make it the greatest game I’ve directed to date."

Rumor: LEGO’s Toys-to-Live Project Has a Name

LEGO Dimensions is the reported working title of a rumored toys-to-life game based on Warners' popular brick-building franchise.

A rumor popped up earlier this week in which an unnamed source told VideoGamer that a toy-centric LEGO game is in the works at Traveller's Tales, and is set for release later this year. The same outlet just received information on the game's aforementioned working title.

As one would expect, LEGO Dimensions is said to have been designed to compete with other toy-based games like Activision's Skylanders series and Disney Infinity.

Resident Evil Revelations 2 Patch Improves Frame Rate on PS4

Capcom's episodic horror game, Resident Evil Revelations 2, has received a performance boost on PlayStation 4, thanks to a new patch.

Eurogamer put the patch to the test, and discovered the frame rate stability has improved by "roughly 10-15%." Before the patch, the PlayStation 4 version's frame rate dipped to as low as 27 FPS, with 25.8% of its frames being dropped. Post-patch, its frame rate consistently stays above 30 FPS, and is now only dropping 11.7% of its frames.

Windows 10 Free Upgrade for Pirates? Not So Fast

The old adage "if it seems too good to be true, it probably is" proves itself once again as Microsoft has clarified its Windows 10 free update policy.

People running pirated versions of Windows were excited to learn that the free Windows upgrade to version 10 also applied to people not running authorized versions of the OS. But in a statement to Ars Technica, a Microsoft spokesperson clarified what the upgrade policy will be for those who are running pirated versions of its software.

Halo 5: Guardians Will Have Dedicated Multiplayer Servers

The studio head for Halo 5: Guardians, Josh Holmes, has shared some big news regarding Halo 5's multiplayer.

Holmes was answering questions in the forums of Team Beyond, a shooter fan site. User aKREEZ asked whether Halo 5 will have dedicated servers for every game, or whether it will use peer-to-peer (P2P) connections. Holmes replied:

"We only have dedicated servers for MP in Halo 5: Guardians. That's true for matchmaking AND customs. There is no P2P."

In some P2P games, the host player can sometimes feel a distinct gameplay advantage. The impact isn't always huge, but it maybe enough avoid a few extra bullets. That shouldn't be the case in Halo 5: Guardians.

Here’s When Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty Is Coming to Xbox One

Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty, the remake of Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee, will release for Xbox One on March 27, Oddworld Inhabitants has announced.

This puzzle platforming game from developer Just Add Water is joining Microsoft's lineup of digital titles as part of the ID@Xbox self-publishing program. The game was originally supposed to release back in February, but was delayed a month for Xbox One.

You will be able to purchase Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty on the Xbox One Games Store for $19.99. Meanwhile, those in the UK with a PlayStation 4 can pick up the game free via PlayStation Plus right now.

Kick It Old School With The Crew Vintage Update

Ubisoft open-world racer The Crew was updated yesterday with three new cars for purchase and a host of free updates.

The Vintage Live Update features two classic examples of American steel, the Corvette C2 and C3, along with the much more recent Spyker C8 Aileron. In addition to the car pack, the update also includes a new PvP mode called "Blitz Brawl."

In addition to the new mode, the free part of the update also includes four new missions, six new tuning specs, wooden interiors and vintage stickers.

The car pack was made available earlier in March to season pass holders, but is now available for anyone to purchase.

The Crew's January update, called The Extreme Live Update, featured the Aston Martin V12 Zagato, 2013 SRT Viper GTS, and Abarth 500.
