Shadow Realms Has Been Cancelled

Shadow Realms, the 4v1 action RPG from EA and BioWare, has been cancelled.

The news originally came from multiple unnamed sources speaking to Game Informer, but has now been confirmed in a blog post by BioWare Austin General Manager, Jeff Hickman.

According to Hickman's post, BioWare has chosen to focus on enhancements for Dragon Age: Inquisition, the next Mass Effect game, and "other new IP."

The team's biggest focus, however, will be on Star Wars: The Old Republic, which received its fourth expansion, The Shadow of Revan, late last year.

Rumor: Marvel Wants Angelina Jolie to Direct Captain Marvel

According to a new rumor, Marvel is eyeing Angelina Jolie (Unbroken) to helm its first female-led film, Captain Marvel.

Sources tell Spoiler TV that after being impressed by Jolie's work on Unbroken, Marvel is offering her $20 million USD to direct Captain Marvel. The source adds that a having female director on the film is a "priority" for the comic studio.

Centered around super-heroine Carol Danvers, Captain Marvel was announced last year as one of Marvel's Phase 3 films. It's slated to hit theaters on July 6, 2018.

Better Call Saul Has Biggest Series Premiere in Cable History

Last night's Better Call Saul premiere is officially the biggest series premiere in the history of cable television.

The Breaking Bad spinoff pulled in 4.4 million viewers aged 18-49, and 4 million adults aged 25-54. The second episode of Better Call Saul's two-night premiere airs tonight at 10pm ET/PT on AMC.

Mega-hit The Walking Dead also returned last night, becoming the top performing regularly-scheduled show of 2015. The hit zombie series was watched by 15.6 million people, with 10.1 million falling in the 18-49 demographic. AMC expects total viewers to surpass 20 million following time-shifted playback.

Last night's Talking Dead aired later than usual (due to Saul's premiere), and was viewed by 2.8 million people and 1.9 million adults 18-49. The aftershow will return to its regular 10pm time slot next week.

Samsung's Smart TV privacy policy admits to collecting personal information picked up by its voice recognition function, and sending that data to a third party.

The exact line from the policy, originally pointed out by The Daily Beast, states:

"Please be aware that if your spoken words include personal or other sensitive information, that information will be among the data captured and transmitted to a third party through your use of Voice Recognition."

While there's not much new premiering this week, save for NBC's The Slap and POP's Schitt's Creek (unless you still count Better Call Saul, which will air its second episode on Monday), there are still plenty of notable offerings on your tube.

Amazon Prime in February: Hannibal, Orphan Black, More

Constantine will wrap up its first season (no word on if its coming back yet) while SNL celebrates 40 seasons on the air with a gaggle of guest stars, past hosts, and former cast members. Plus, blood is in the air on Cinemax's Banshee and DC's Firestorm becomes a big problem on The Flash.
