New Inspector Gadget Animated Series Coming to Netflix

Netflix has announced five new cartoons aimed at attracting children to the streaming service, including a remake of the much-beloved Inspector Gadget, a Danger Mouse remake, and three more titles.

The 1980's classic Inspector Gadget is getting a CGI reincarnation with 26 episodes, reports USA Today. The cartoon, produced by DHX media, has already aired on TV in Europe, but it will premiere exclusively in the US on Netflix in March, with premiere dates for other countries to be announced later.

Star Trek Great Leonard Nimoy Dies at Age 83

Actor Leonard Nimoy -- known to generations as Star Trek's Mr. Spock -- died Friday. He was 83.

Nimoy's wife, Susan Bay Nimoy, said the cause of death was end-stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, according to the New York Times.

The Boston-born actor played the logical Vulcan science and first officer of the USS Enterprise on the original 1960s TV series and its subsequent movies. He last played Spock in 2013's Star Trek Into Darkness.

Nimoy first worked with Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry on the TV series The Lieutenant. Following his initial stint on Trek, Nimoy replaced Martin Landau on Mission: Impossible. Nimoy received four Emmy nominations during his long career, three for Trek and one for the TV movie A Woman Called Golda. He also hosted the 1970s series In Search of..., which investigated the paranormal and strange. More recently, he played William Bell on Fringe, and voiced Sentinel Prime in Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

Fall Down a Literal Well in Downwell

Downwell, a game created by independent Japanese game developer Ojiro Fumoto, is set to release on iOS, Android, and PC sometime in 2015.

Published by Devolver Digital, Downwell is a vertical shooter in which a boy must successfully make his way to the bottom of a well with guns attached to his boots while avoiding enemies and obstacles.

 

The game's description claims "no two trips down the well are ever the same."

Devolver Digital is the publisher for several notable games, including Hotline Miami, Luftrausers, The Talos Principle, and the upcoming Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number.

2015 is primed to be a huge year for fighting games, with new numbered entries coming for both Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter. Avengers 2: Even Thor Can’t Fight Ultron

Warning: Some details about Avengers: Age of Ultron follow...

We're a little over two months away from the release of Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron, with the penultimate movie in Marvel's Cinematic Universe's Phase 2 poised to set-up big story-lines to come in Phase 3, including Captain America: Civil War, Black Panther, and more.

Roughly a year ago, IGN had the opportunity to visit the set of the Joss Whedon-directed sequel with a small group of reporters. While there, we were able to speak with Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth, about where we'll find the Asgardian God in the film, and what the events of Ultron will mean for him on the road ahead.

2K Announces Evolve PAX East PRO-AM Tournament

2K Games and Turtle Rock Studios, along with eSport tournament organizer ESL, will be hosting an Evolve tournament during PAX East, the companies announced today.

Taking place at the PAX East ESL Arena, the tournament will include eight teams featuring a mix of professional eSports players and amateurs. The single elimination tournament will have teams face-off as both monsters and hunters in best of three matches.

You'll be able to watch the tournament live on Evolve's Twitch channel while it takes place March 6 from 10am-7pm ET.

Life is Strange Episode 2 Has Been Delayed

UPDATE: Dontnod Entertainment has spoken about the reported delay, assuring that Life is Strange Episode 2 is "on track." However, this does not explain whether or not the release will be slightly later than the originally-planned six-week release cycle. IGN has reached out to Square Enix for clairification.

The second episode of Dontnod Entertainment's interactive drama Life is Strange has been delayed.

Square Enix confirmed the delay with IGN, saying that "development is on track and we’re looking to release it before the end of March."

Episode 2: Out of Time was originally scheduled to release on March 13, in keeping with the studio's six-week release cycle. No specific reason was given for the episode's delay.

This is How GTA 5 Will Look on PC

Rockstar has release 14 new hi-res screens for the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V, showing the refinement and subtle touches to the graphical presentation of the upcoming release.

The screens paint a variety of locations across Lo Santos, in the wilderness, through the city, on golf courses and on the waterfront. The screens show finer detail and richer textures than earlier incarnations, and creative touches that present the upcoming release's graphical standards:

The PC version of GTA V was recently delayed again, this time until April 14 for both digital and retail. Rockstar said this was a decision made to ensure the game's quality at release, and that anyone who pre-orders before March 31 will receive an extra $300,000 of in-game cash; that's on top of the existing pre-order bonus.
