Unexplained Bright Spots Increase in Number on Dwarf Planet Ceres
The latest images of dwarf planet Ceres reveal a second unexplained bright spot residing in the same basin as the first mysterious bright patch spied in previous images.
"Ceres' bright spot can now be seen to have a companion of lesser brightness, but apparently in the same basin,” said Chris Russell, principal investigator for the Dawn mission, in a prepared statement. “This may be pointing to a volcano-like origin of the spots, but we will have to wait for better resolution before we can make such geologic interpretations."

Arrow Producers on the Latest Move by Ra’s al Ghul
Note: Major spoilers for this week’s Arrow, “Nanda Parbat”, follow.
This week’s Arrow had several big plot developments, starting with the surprise moment that ended the episode – as Ra’s al Ghul told Oliver Queen he wanted Oliver to be his replacement.
But that wasn’t all, as Ray Palmer donned The Atom costume for the first time – and took flight. Oh, and, um, Ray and Felicity slept together.
Arrow executive producers Andrew Kreisberg and Marc Guggenheim weighed in on all these developments and more, with hints at what’s next.
Warner Bros., Ninja Turtles Writer Join Tomb Raider Reboot
Lara Croft will return to the big screen thanks to April O'Neil's screenwriter.
Evan Daugherty -- who wrote producer Michael Bay's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles -- will script MGM's Tomb Raider reboot, which Graham King (The Departed) will produce.
Warner Bros. has also reportedly come aboard to co-finance and co-produce the film reboot of the classic video game, previously brought to live-action as a pair of Angelina Jolie action movies.
"The reboot is on a fast track, and there is strong progress to production language in the rights deal with Square Enix, the video game company behind the title," according to Deadline, which adds that the reboot "will feature a younger Lara Croft going on her first adventure."
Jay Baruchel on Why Man Seeking Woman is One of TV’s Best Shows
Jay Baruchel's surreal comedy on FXX, Man Seeking Woman, takes the treacherous world of dating and gives it a fantastical spin, as if the main character Josh (Baruchel) sees his worst relationship fears come to life before him. They include his ex-girlfriend dating an ancient (but shockingly still alive) Hitler and getting set up on a blind date with an actual bridge troll.
"I know enough that I don't know the metric for what people are going to connect to," Baruchel told IGN when asked if he was surprised that critics had embraced a premise that goes so far beyond the norm. "I just never take it for granted. And then to compound that, we're doing something that's very different than the average thing. So those two things combine to make me assume that, yeah, I didn't take for granted that people would get what we're doing. That being said, I think I'm on the best show on television. It's a good show, and people like good stuff. So when everybody did connect to it with this learning curve that we thought didn't exist, we were just like, 'Good. Yeah. We did our jobs.'"
Capcom Cuts Local Co-Op from Resident Evil Revelations 2 on PC
Resident Evil Revelations 2 on Windows PC does not support offline co-op play in the Campaign or in the Raid Mode.
A Capcom Europe representative told IGN in a statement that the feature was cut over quality concerns and to focus on single local play:
“The PC version of Resident Evil Revelations 2 supports a variety of customizable visual settings and resolutions. The decision to prioritize a single local screen was made to ensure a stable user experience across a variety of different PC settings and devices. Raid mode will support online co-op shortly after launch when a free patch is available for players to download which adds this feature, but the main campaign on PC will only be available to play in single local screen.”
Necromorphs May Appear in Battlefield Hardline
During a live Q&A session on Twitter, Visceral Games' Ian Milham revealed that several Dead Space easter eggs will be featured in the upcoming Battlefield Hardline.
"So many. Some obvious, some deep," Milham said in response to a question asking whether or not there would be Isaac Clarke and Dead Space easter eggs hidden within the game.
Visceral Games is the studio behind the Dead Space series, having developed Dead Space, Dead Space 2, and Dead Space 3. The nature of these easter eggs and where they might be found remains unknown. Visit IGN's Battlefield Hardline wiki to see some of the already-discovered easter eggs in the EA-published shooter.
