Destiny’s Crota’s End Hard Mode Beaten in Under 30 Minutes
The best-of-the-best Destiny players rushed to claim the title of first to beat game's new Crota's End Hard Mode, with fire team One and Done completing the raid in just 27 minutes. The new mode went live a 9:30 PT this morning.
Bungie confirmed One and Done as the first to complete the new mode on its Twitter account. The official top 5 teams will be posted in the next Bungie weekly update.
IGN had its own fire team assembled to take down Crota. Alfredo Diaz, aka AlfredoPlays, said that raid, which is part of the Dark Below expansion, is more or less the same. Right up until the final encounter, that is.
Davies Would Be Up for a Doctor Who Movie
Former Doctor Who showrunner Russell T. Davies isn't done with the Whoniverse just yet.
Radio Times reports that while on Radio 2, Davies told host Graham Norton that a Doctor Who movie would be "glorious," adding, "Imagine queuing up at the cinema to go and see a Doctor Who film." And yes, Davies would be up for writing the feature as well.
“Yes please! If we could get the lawyers and contracts flying now… You know I would do that because I think there’s a big leap to be made on to the screen," Davies said. "Oh, I can hear the Doctor Who office with their head in their hands now going, 'shut up, Davies, shut up.' I have literally just realised where I am – broadcasting to the nation. I'm in trouble now… They'll kill me for that!"
Gotham: Ben Mckenzie on Gordon Turning to the Dark Side
Detective James Gordon made a move to get his job back in this week's "What the Little Bird Told Him", and in so doing, took one step further into accepting that in Gotham there is no such thing as an entirely morally upstanding "boy scout." Not one who'll survive, in any case. We were able to sit down with Gordon himself, Ben Mckenzie, to talk about where we can expect the future commissioner to go on the series from here.
Gotham: "What the Little Bird Told Him" Review
IGN TV: Gordon made a big move in "What The Little Bird Told Him" I wanted to ask, A) what sort of direction do you think he's going in from here? Will we see more of this new, hardend Gordan? and B) Do you think he's the guy that really does think everyone needs protection, including Maroni, or does he just like to win?
Baruchel: How to Train Your Dragon 2 ‘Destroyed’ LEGO Movie
Jay Baruchel has been promoting his surreal FXX comedy Man Seeking Woman, in the midst of a busy time that includes an Oscar Nomination and Golden Globe win for How to Train Your Dragon 2. The actor provides the voice for the main character, Hiccup, in the film, and in speaking to IGN about his new television series (stay tuned for more on that) expressed that he is feeling both grateful and gratified by the acclaim that it is receiving.
Man Seeking Woman: "Lizard" Review
"I'm very, very gratified, because I think we made an amazing movie," the actor enthused. "I don't mean to sound ungrateful, because we're all incredibly grateful, but that doesn't mean I don't think that it's very well deserved. I think we destroyed it, and I think
Backstrom: Rainn Wilson on His New TV Role
Having played Dwight Schrute for nine seasons on The Office, Rainn Wilson returns to TV this week as the title character in Backstrom. Based on the Swedish book series by Leif G. W. Persson and from executive producer Hart Hanson (Bones), Backstrom stars as the title character – a casually racist, sexist police detective.
On the Vancouver set of the series this fall, Wilson spoke about why he decided to the series, recalling, “I finished The Office and my agents called me and they’re like, ‘We want you to read this TV pilot,’ and I was like, ‘You’re insane. I just did 202 episodes of television over ten years!’ They were like, ‘I know, just do us a favor and just read it.’
“They had this kind of tone in their voice that was a little different so I read it and I was like, ‘Oh, darn it, they’re pulling me back into television.’ I really just wanted to take a nice long, long vacation and do some indie films that no one would ever watch. But I fell in love with the character and he is so fascinating and interesting and has so many facets and so much texture that I knew it was going to be something that I would love to dive into. I’ve never played a character like this before. He’s a lead and he drives scenes and drives episodes and stuff, which is an interesting challenge in itself. Dwight was always driving the B plot or doing the comic antics on the side. And then he’s got heart and there’s romance - not Hart Hansen; no pun intended. There’s a dark underbelly and humor. Plus I’ve always wanted to play a cop. It was a little intimidating. I was like how am I going to be a convincing cop? And I realized I didn’t need to be a convincing cop. I could be a schlubby, weird dufus cop like myself. So I was really excited to take on the challenge.”
Sony Bend Dev: Our Next Game Will ‘Blow People Away’
Sony Bend, the PlayStation studio that most recently developed Uncharted: Golden Abyss for the Vita, is working on a new game for the PS4 that will "blow people away."
The studio's technical director, Christopher Reese, shared the news in a job recruitment post on Gamasutra. Reese said the team is looking for some "badass coders to help us push the PS4 somewhere it's never been before," using Unreal Engine 4.
"I think the thing I'm most excited about is the fact we're doing a PS4 game, and it's next gen, and to me that means we face the challenges of reaching a quality bar that's going to make for an awesome experience for the player," Reese said.

Milla Jovovich Gives Update on Resident Evil 6
Resident Evil actress Milla Jovovich says that the delayed Resident Evil 6 will now begin filming this August.
Jovovich, who last year decided to delay production of the film to accommodate her pregnancy, says that the wait is due to her wanting to be "really careful" about her lifestyle during the pregnancy.
"I've gained all the baby weight I need to have a healthy pregnancy -30 lbs.- and as of last week, I've started having to be really careful about my lifestyle so I don't continue to gain unnecessarily; which is not healthy for me OR my newborn," she says in a Facebook post.
See Kingsman: The Secret Service Early
X-Men: First Class director Matthew Vaughn’s new movie is Kingsman: The Secret Service, based on the comic series by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons. Our review of the film is coming soon, but we can tell you that it’s a super-fun updating of the spy movie genre. And now IGN is hosting a bunch of early screenings of Kingsman this week!
Starring Colin Firth, Samuel L. Jackson and Taron Egerton, Kingsman tells the story of “Eggsy” Unwin (Egerton), a working-class kid in London who is drafted into the secret spy service of the title. Firth plays his mentor Galahad while Jackson is the creepy-yet-funny villain of the film, a tech genius named Valentine. While Eggsy competes with other draftees to make the cut as a Kingsman, he and Firth must also face the looming threat of Valentine who has some serious James Bond bad guy type plans for the world.
