Eddie Murphy Returning to SNL for First Time in 30 Years
As most of you know, Eddie Murphy was a cast member on Saturday Night Live from 1980 to 1984, becoming a breakout film star in the process (48 Hours, Trading Places, Beverly Hills Cop). Murphy however, unlike a lot of other SNL alums, never once returned to the show for a hosting gig or a guest spot since he last appeared on December 15th, 1984.
Until now.
Murphy recently told NewsOne that he will be appearing on SNL's three-hour 40th anniversary special, airing on February 15th.
"It just never worked out where the timing was right for me to do it," Murphy told News One. "They're having a 40th anniversary. I'm going to that. And that will be the first time I've been back since I left."

Apex 2015, a fighting game tournament with a large Super Smash Bros. portion, had to change venue due to safety concerns Friday.
The event had been put on hold by fire marshals due to structural damage caused by a recent storm.

A fire alarm was pulled this morning, and the venue had to be evacuated. When the fire marshals arrived, they shut down the entire place. "One of the ballrooms had a part of it collapse during the storm, fire marshals are here possibly not deeming it safe," wrote Alex Jebailey, creator of CEO Gaming, on Twitter.
